Out and about in NSW ....

Hi All,

Sorry it's been so long between posts but we have been very busy lol.

On the road again after a great stay in QLD :)

Our first stop was Ballina for a couple of nights.  We stayed at a lovely place on the river and the weather was beautiful.  It was Melbourne cup day on our second day but we didn't do any good in the caravan park sweep :(

Then it was off to Coffs Harbour for a couple of nights.  We stopped in here last year with Chris and Kevin and it was great.  This year it has did nothing but thunder and lightening all night and day lol.
We still had a great time, we went for a drive in the hills and then to the butterfly house (a few hundred photos later haha) and maze, which is only one of three butterfly houses left in Australia.

Then we travelled all day and went through Newcastle which we didn't realise is such a big city, it is huge and with beautiful beaches.  We stopped overnight in Belmont just outside Swansea.  What a lovely place right on the river.

Next stop on Saturday was Sydney where we stayed for 7 nights in the Lane Cove Tourist Park about 12 kms from the heart of Sydney in the National Park.
OMG the traffic is aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh I couldn't live here, but I suppose you would get used to it!!!!
We bought a weekly myticket fpr $63 each for unlimited travel on trains, buses, light rail and ferries which we used every day, so was well worth it.

We went to see Alan and Lyn on Sunday as they live in Hebersham near Blacktown and went to the Featherdale Wildlife Park which is right in the middle of all the houses but is really big and was a great day out.

Over the next week we caught the train into Sydney (20 minutes) and went to Madame Tussauds, then for a ride on the ferry to Parramatta and another ride to Manly, we caught the train to the Blue Mountains, we climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge (so proud of myself as I am very scared of heights), went to Olympic Park and checked out DFO, went to Paddy's Markets, had a look around Chatswood, took Alan and Lyn out to dinner at a restaurant around the corner from the tourist park.

Then it was time to put the legs up and move on again.................except the day before we left the IDIOT in the van next to us was leaving and instead of asking us to move our car over just a bit before he realised he was too close he decided to just go and so he hit our car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Luckily it has only scratched down the side of the passenger door and not dented it.  We didn't even realise he had hit it until he came back and knocked on the door and tried to slip Andrew $50 to fix it lol......I don't think so hahaha.

So off we went again on our way down the coast of NSW.................we headed towards Woolongong.................down the big hill which was soooooooooooo scary I was crying lol I have had enough of the mountains boooohooooo!!!!!!  My hair is so grey it's not funny hahahahaha!!!!

We stayed at Kiama for 2 nights and that's another story...........................the weather is lovely so we went for a drive to see the 2 blowholes and town.  On Sunday we got up and it was a bit cloudy but no wind but was raining so we went into town for brekky and wandered around the markets.  We then decided to go for a drive down the coast only for about 50kms but the little towns are beautiful.  That's when the wind started picking up and getting really strong.  We stopped in some little country antique shops and cafĂ© at Jindy Andy and then started making our way back..................then the caravan park rang.....the wind was sooooooooooooostrong it had completely ripped our awning up and over the caravan and off the brackets onto the ground on the other side.  The canvas was ripped off the pole so now all we have is a pole :(  Andrew has tied it back onto the van and the awning is folded up in the car hahaha.  We rang the insurance and will get it fixed when we get home!!!!!  Then the wind stopped and it was dead still we couldn't believe it.

We are now at a lovely little caravan park in Batemans Bay on the Clyde River and it is beautiful.  It rained all night but not cold or windy, we went for a walk along the beach after dinner (doesn't get dark til about 8-8.30).  Today we will go for a drive as there are so many beaches here.

I suppose I better get up now as it is nearly 10 o'clock :)

Love and miss everyone so much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Big kisses and cuddles for my littlies, Kalani, Zavier and Alanis xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Next we are making our way to Melbourne :)  And there better not be any hills hahahahahahaha

Fun in Queensland.

Well hello again :)

We had a great time getting  to Queensland, some of the places we went through are beautiful.  We came up through Armidale, Warwick, Glenn Innes, Tamworth, Tenterfield and Toowoomba.
Tamworth was a little disappointing as I was expecting to see at least some country people e.g: cowboy hats, boots hahahaha and something musical.........but no nothing.  We couldn't even park anywhere as couldn't find somewhere big enough for the car and van............maybe we were on the wrong side of town lol!!!!
AND then there was Toowoomba.............OMFG I have never seen or been down a hill soooooooo big hahaha and NEVER again lol.........I was nearly crying it was so scary hahaha.  But we did it :)

We got to Brisbane on Wednesday 29/10 and are leaving tomorrow 3/11.  We have been staying in the Moreton Bay area at Scarborough Caravan park and it is right on the water next to the boat club and is a lovely little park.
Thursday night we went out to dinner with Bob and Wendy in Woody Point and a lovely night, good food, great company and lots of laughs.
We went for a drive up the Sunshine Coast on Friday to Mooloolaba, Mooroochydore and Noosa and its gorgeous.  They were getting set up for the Triathlon in Noosa which was on today 3/11.

Saturday we went to Andrew's family Christmas get together at Val and Leanne's.  We had such a great day it was lovely to catch up with everyone again with lots of laughs.  Thanks so much for having us again this year ♥♥♥
We then went out for dinner with Shane and Sue before they headed back to Rockhampton in the morning, which was great :)

Today we have had a great afternoon and lunch at Mathew and Jill's (and Lindsay), so thanks very much xx.
Well we have packed everything up ready for leaving in the morning and we will head off down towards NSW to pop in and see Alan and Lyn :).

Off to the East!!!

Hi Again,

Well we are now well and truly on our way to Brisbane.  We left Kalgoorlie on Wednesday the 15th of Oct and 1st stop was Cocklebiddy for the night and the next night we stopped just before Penong in SA.  Next stop Whyalla!!!  But not before car trouble...................It was 5pm on Friday and we were 70kms from Whyalla just passed Cowell and the engine light came on and it was blowing out black smoke, we stopped in 36 degree heat in the middle of nowhere and there was oil in the engine bay.  Thank god we have roadside assist, so a quick call to them and out they came an hour and a half later from Whyalla and they checked it out and said they would follow us into town.  Car ran like a dream (as always) lol, no smoke no nothing hahahaha.  Anyway by the time we got to Deb and Pete's it was nearly 8pm, but was so good to see them and Ziggy.  And Deb was doing us dinner too so that was wonderful :)
Went into the Mitsubishi place in the morning and couldn't get booked in til Tuesday so we had a weekend of sight seeing, Andrew gave Pete a hand with some work around the caravan park, went to the pub for dinner a couple of times and a quick go on the pokies hehe.
$283 later the car is fixed and the problem was when we had the service done in September they had overfilled the oil !!!! so they drained 1.5 litres out lol.  I emailed Rockingham Mitsubishi and they have credited us back the $283 so that was good of them.  So all is now good :)
We had such a great time with Deb and Butt Monkey (Pete) hahaha and Ziggy but it was soon time to leave :(.
We left on Wednesday the 22nd and followed the Murray river, boy there are some beautiful places there.   Stopped overnight on the river bank just outside Waikerie just stunning.  We have spent the last 2 days here in Buronga Riverside caravan park (best caravan park we have ever stayed in and only $29 a night for a powered site).  Mildura Victoria is on one side of the river and the caravan park is in NSW on the other side lol.  Went on a Paddle steamer river cruise up the Murray today and through a Lock, which was really good and interesting.

It has been so hot for the last week and a half, I don't think the temp has been below 33 degrees,  the aircon in the van is getting a workout lol.

Well it's 9.30 so I better go as Andrew is snoring his head off haha and we are on the road again tomorrow off towards Dubbo to go to the zoo :)
I will try and add a few photos to this post, if they are not on here you know I can't remember how to do it hahahahaha!!!!!

Love and miss you all.

Greetings from Kalgoorlie:)

Hi All,

Well our week of prospecting with Chris and Kevin finished today and they have gone to travel home.  We have had such a great week and stayed at some beautiful bush spots.

We had a great couple of nights just outside of Mt magnet and watched the eclipse and it was so clear it was very bright.  We then moved onto Niagara Dam 9 kms before the ghost town of Kookynie and what a great spot.  You can swim in the dam, go bushwalking, there is a day picnic area and loads of different camping areas.  We will def go there again.

Then we spent the last 2 nights at Lake Douglas 10 kms past Kalgoorlie and another fantastic camp.

Oh both have toilets too which are very clean:)

We met a couple Mal and Val whose mate lives at  Bouldercombe Qld (where Shane lives) small world hey!!
He does prospecting and took Andrew and Kev out for a couple of hours but still nothing hahaha.
I don't know all the gear and no idea hahahahahaha.

We are staying in a caravan park in Kalgoorlie tonight to charge everything up and fill the water tanks as we start our trek over the Nullabor tomorrow.  We will stay at the Fraser rest stop tomorrow night and then on we go.
Look out Deb and Pete we are on our way to Wyalla!!!!!!!

Saw my first live Witchety Grub in the bush today as we all packed up camp..........mmmm juicy lol, I don't think so hahahahaha.

Hope everyone at home is well and we miss you all so much I don't know how I am going to go for the next 8-9 weeks lol, but I haven't had any moments yet !!  Also it is bloody fantastic NOT SWEATING hahahahaha good old HRT my saviour :)

Well bye for now as we are going to make the most of a long hot shower while we can hahahaha (I have had to wash my hair in a bucket outside the van to not use too much water) so it will be lovely tonight :)
Oh and Andrew's beard, eyebrows and lashes are all ok hahahahaha!!!

Til next time
The bit more experienced apprentice nomads xx

Loads and loads of love and kisses to Kalani, Zavier and Alanis xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

On the road again!

Well good morning from sunny Mt Magnet:)

We left on our newest adventure yesterday.   Chris and Kevin are with us for the first week and then Andrew and I are heading off for a couple of months to Queensland and then down the coast and back to WA.

We are prospecting this week and hope to find us some gold!!!!  Andrew said Chris and I look like a couple of chooks bent over scratching the ground lol...............but they won't be laughing if we find something haha.

Well we had an eventful 1st night as Chris and Kevin's water heater in the van wouldn't light so the boys thought aha we will fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So they are both bent over the outlet and Andrew said I will just blow in here and WHOOSH it lit AND so did his beard, eyebrows and lashes hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.  He put his hands over his face and rubbed it and looked at Kev and said "Am I on fire?????".  Chris and I ran out the van to see what had happened and they were both laughing so hard I said wait let me take a picture lol.  We must have laughed for about an hour it was soooooooo funny.   So Andrew now has a singed beard, half a left eyebrow and tiny little stumpy eyelashes............and he didn't burn his face:)   But god it was funny!  And he won't shave his beard off..........

Well I am off now for bacon and eggs and a day of gold hunting, wish us luck.
Bye for now Love Me and Singey hahahahaha xxxxxxxxxxxx
